Ilifa Africa Engineers is a South African consulting engineering firm specialising in civil, structural and environmental engineering design. Since we began operating in 1981, we have grown a substantial client base and established a geographic footprint across South Africa and the African continent.

Ilifa Africa Engineers is in full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to its services as well as environmental and occupational health and safety legislation in all the jurisdictions in which it operates.

Ilifa is a certified Level 1 B-BBEE supplier. We are fully B-BBEE compliant in accordance with the construction sector charter requirements. We also implement measures to exceed the stipulated targets.

Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Policy

Ilifa is in full compliance with occupational health and safety legislation in all the jurisdictions in which it operates.

Our quality management and efficiency are evident across our offices as well as on all our projects where quality systems and practices are implemented from inception through to project completion.

We are committed to a safe working environment and continually strive to improve the standards of safety and health within the work place through the implementation of industry best practices. Where required, we implement client-specific safety and health policies and procedures.

We believe that achieving the balance between desired development and environmental sustainability should be a constant priority and are aware of the potential impact our projects may have on the environment. We, therefore, aim to implement construction practices supported by meaningful mitigation measures in order to comply with best environmental practices.

Ilifa Africa Engineers has an entrenched Quality Management and Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified. Our quality management and efficiency are evident across our offices as well as on all our projects where quality systems and practices are implemented from inception through to project completion.

POPI Act Compliance

The right to privacy is an integral human right recognized and protected in the South African Constitution and in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

POPIA aims to promote the protection of personal information by introducing certain guidelines in processing of personal information in a context-sensitive manner.

At Ilifa Africa Engineers we are committed to protect the privacy of customers, employees and other stakeholders and to ensure that personal information is collected and used properly, lawfully and transparently in accordance with POPIA.

PAIA Compliance

As a private company, Ilifa Africa Engineers is required to compile a PAIA manual, which contains information, including company details of records that Ilifa hold and how these records may be accessed in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) No. 2 of 2000.

We aim at working with clients who share our objectives, vision and direction. We focus on building relationships and achieving cost effective business partnerships, for the mutual benefit of all parties.

Our clients are located across Africa and include mining houses, local and district municipalities, private developers, water boards, provincial and national governments. We are proud of our long-standing client relationships with many major South African companies.
